Celebrating Downtown
Downtown Tucson is the perfect destination to get into the holiday cheer, boasting more than sixty structures that are illuminated, streets lined with trees adorned with LED lights, and plenty of storefronts dressed up for the season.
Downtown Parade of Lights
The Downtown Parade of Lights in Tucson is a yearly gathering that draws citizens and travelers to commemorate the joyfulness of the period. The procession commences at the corner of 17th Street and Stone Avenue, continuing northward along Stone Avenue, turning east on Ochoa to 12th Street, and then southward on 6th Avenue until it reaches its conclusion at Armory Park located at 220 South 6th Avenue.
Chanukah @ Downtown Tucson
The 39th annual illumination of Tucson’s highest Menorah at El Presidio Park will happen during Chanukah 2022. This year’s event will feature live music, entertainment, and traditional Chanukah foods. Cirque Roots will be putting on a spectacular light show that visitors can enjoy. There will also be crafts, holiday treats, and personal Menorahs that people can take home with them. Admission is free and open to the public.
Tucson Holiday Ice
You don’t have to go a long way to enjoy ice skating! The outside of the Tucson Convention Center offers an open-air ice-skating rink from November 20, 2022–January 8, 2023. It’s hard to believe, but YES, the ice is real! Sessions are 90 minutes each. You can purchase your tickets online for these sessions. They will be sure to give you an amazing experience that you will never forget!
Tucson’s Christmas Tree at Jácome Plaza
The Tucson Christmas Tree is a sight to behold, located as it is in Jácome Plaza in the downtown area. It is absolutely sparkling with thousands of LED lights and decorated with over a thousand beautiful ornaments. This magnificent tree is the tallest in Southern Arizona, measuring an impressive 36 feet in height. The tree may be observed daily until January 3, 2023, from dawn to 10:30 in the evening.
Boys Chorus Christmas Tree Sale @ The Monica
The only spot to procure a real Christmas Tree in Downtown Tucson is The Monica, and proceeds from purchases will exclusively benefit the Tucson Boys Chorus. New batches of trees are delivered on a regular basis, allowing you to obtain a wonderfully fresh one for the festive season. If you find yourself in The Monica one December, be sure to check out their 12 Days of Xmas from Dec. 13-24. During this time, they have an extra nice happy hour from 12 to 6 p.m. Additionally, kids under 10 eat free, so it’s the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family!

Gaslight’s Christmas Vacation
You can enjoy a meal and top-notch entertainment at Tucson’s renowned Gaslight Theatre. There is complimentary popcorn available, along with an exquisite dinner and dessert menu that will please all members of the family. This is a great way to spend an evening in Tucson, and you’ll be able to see some of the best local talent performing on stage.
This year, the Gaslight Theatre’s festive event will be Gaslight’s Christmas Vacation, and it will take place from November 10, 2022, to January 1, 2023.
Tucson Symphony Orchestra
Join the Tucson Symphony Orchestra for a festive observance of the holidays with an ethnically unique spin. Maestro Gomez will be joined by the Tucson Girls Chorus, the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, and other special guests to mark this joyous season with a performance of Happy Holidays ¡Feliz Navidad!
This year, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra will be providing musical accompaniment for Ballet Tucson’s acclaimed The Nutcracker performance. This is also the first time the orchestra has performed this holiday classic. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see and hear The Nutcracker like never before!

Enchanted Snowfall at La Encantada
The La Encantada shopping center in Tucson, Arizona, features an Enchanted Snowfall in its courtyard throughout winter. As soon as night falls, the Reid Park Zoo is transformed into a magical place full of fairy lights and enchanting displays. This popular event, called ZooLights, is a must-see for anyone in the Tucson area during the holiday season. Visitors can stroll through the zoo grounds, taking in the festive atmosphere and enjoying light shows along the way. Be sure to stop by and say hello to Santa who will be meeting kids of all ages each evening! as you make your way through the Arctic Zone, take in the falling snow and festive music. Don’t forget to savor a hot cup of cocoa from the Zoo Cafe while enjoying this Tucson holiday tradition!
Winterhaven Festival of Lights
The Winterhaven neighborhood is well known for its spectacular displays during the holiday season. Every year, they put on a magnificent show for the Festival of Lights. People come from all over to see the beautiful lights and decorations. It’s a truly enchanting experience that everyone should see at least once. The neighborhood residents go all out when it comes to decorating for the season. You’ll find traditional Christmas lights, celebrations of Hanukkah, and everything in between. No matter what your holiday preference is, you’re sure to find something that brings some holiday cheer. The event is free to attend, but we encourage donations to the Community Food Bank. You can walk through the neighborhood or take a tour from one of our trolley and hayride vendors. There will be plenty of activities for the kids, so bring them along!
